A Note from Liz . . .
We can’t believe the summer solstice is already here. The Madison’s water has cleared and the fishing is incredible. We hear the salmon flies are emerging and so are the anglers. This is a fabulous time to be here in the Madison Valley!
You will notice there are recycle bins at 5 different fishing access sites along the Madison. All your fly line and monofilament will be sent to Missoula Flyvines who will use this to make croakies and jewelry. Please recycle all your line and encourage others to do the same.
Go forth and conserve,

Letter on Madison River Foundation’s stance on landing seaplanes on Hebgen Lake.
Catch the Hatch
We are almost out of Catch the Hatch Celebration & Fundraiser tickets. Call the office or purchase online before we sell out!
Willow & Birch Tree Plantings
The MRF fenced three plots of willow and birch trees that we had planted on May 15th. The comparison of non-fenced and fenced will guide Madison River Foundation’s plantings in 2018. The goal of the project is to help cool waters and increase shade for fish and wildlife.
On June 15th, Madison Conservation District hosted this year’s Stream Team training at the Jack Creek Preserve Education Center. The training was for volunteers interested in conducting water quality sampling this summer. Thank you in advance to all the volunteers who will work this season.
The Madison River Foundation received a grant from Patagonia to fund the 2017 Stream Team. This grant will cover most of the Stream Team’s expenses this year. We are grateful to the Dillon Patagonia store who approved the grant for this worthwhile endeavor.
