Mike Gentry

portland, Oregon

Mike has been an MRF Life Member for a number of years and is a Steward of the Madison.  He is a retired attorney with experience in contract law and also holds an accounting degree. Mike lives in Portland, Oregon, where he has been active in several nonprofit organizations and has served as president, secretary or treasurer of many, most recently Tualatin Valley Trout Unlimited and Friends of Timberline, the nonprofit for Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood.  He also serves on the Board of Portland Community College Foundation.  Mike has been fishing southwest Montana and the Madison River for many years and is familiar with the issues facing the river.  His license plate reads “MIDGER”.

 
 
 
 
 
 

Rich Gockel

ennis, montana

Rich has been a long-time active member of the Madison River Foundation since first joining in 2007.  He is a retired mechanical engineer and full-time resident of Madison County.  Rich is an active member of Trout Unlimited having served on the Board of the Zane Gray TU chapter in Arizona, while living there, and as a volunteer for the local Madison-Gallatin Chapter in Bozeman.  He also volunteers as a Stream Team member for the Madison Conservation District, contributing to water evaluations on tributaries to the Madison.  Rich has been fishing the Madison River since the mid-1970’s and is very familiar with the issues facing the Madison.

Rick Johnson

Chicago, Illinois

Rick has been a Madison River Foundation Life member since 2013 and is a nationally recognized executive specializing in human resources and workforce health strategies.  A resident of Chicago, he has deep family connections to Montana and especially southwest Montana; he and Claudia were married in Ennis by Johnny France. Rick continues to spends time in the Bozeman/Ennis area in many outdoor activities.  He has served on the Board of several nonprofits and has work with the Sierra Club, The Ridges Sanctuary, and Openlands on strategy, marketing, membership and fundraising.  Rick’s experience with the Madison River dates to the 1970’s when he began fishing it and he is very familiar with the current issues facing the river.
