Watershed Speaker Series - Panel Discussion
This summer the Madison River Foundation and the Madison Conservation District will be cohosting a watershed speaker series on the last Tuesday of the month from May – September at 5pm MT. Presentations will be available both in person at the Madison Valley Public Library and virtually.
Speakers are being selected from the community who are best able to report on our fisheries, stream health, conservation efforts, and ranching practices. Each month a different topic will be presented. The series will be concluded with a panel discussion on the state of the Madison Watershed in September.

River Cleanup with MRF, MGTU, & BHA
Cohosted river cleanup event with Madison River Foundation, Madison Gallatin Trout Unlimited, and Backcountry Hunters & Anglers. Volunteers will be needed for the following:
Lower river 3-4 boats per section
Middle river 1-2 boats per section
On foot volunteers 15-20 per section
Watershed Speaker Series - Presentation 4
Dr. Adam Sigler, a Water Quality Specialist from Montana State University, will present a walkthrough of the MSUEWQ web-database, which provides storage and visualization of surface water data and photos collected by citizen scientists and groups across Montana.

MRF & MCD Madison Watershed Symposium
The Madison River Foundation and the Madison Conservation District will be co-hosting a Madison River Watershed symposium in Ennis, MT. Details to come.
Watershed Speaker Series - Presentation 3
Ryan Kreiner, a Native Fish Biologist with Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks, will present on Arctic grayling and westslope cutthroat trout conservation in Southwest Montana. Both species have been reduced to approximately 5% of their historic distributions in the region due to a variety of threats including habitat degradation, non-native trout species, historic over-harvest, and climate change. Kreiner will discuss the current status and regional goals for both species, as well as projects going on to achieve these goals. He will speak about current conservation efforts both inside and outside of the Madison basin.

MRF Annual Fundraiser Dinner with Music on the Madison
We will be hosting an annual dinner fundraiser this year. Proceeds will go to river conservation. The evening will begin with a cocktail hour and silent auction from 4-5:30pm. We encourage all guests to arrive no later than 5pm. Dinner will begin at 5:30pm. Live auction to start at 6pm. The evening will then include a live musical performance by Nashville country artist, Mark MacKay at 7:30pm. We hope you will be able to attend!
Watershed Speaker Series - Presentation 2
This summer, the Madison River Foundation and the Madison Conservation District will be cohosting a watershed speaker series on the last Tuesday of the month from May – September at 5pm MT.
On June 28th, Karin Boyd and Remy Georgeton will be presenting on sediment mobility and spawning gravel availability on the Madison River. Over Karin’s 29-year career, she has worked on restoring river systems affected by channelization, dams, dewatering, bank armoring, fire, floods, floodplain development, agriculture, and mining. Karin is currently the principal owner of Applied Geomorphology Inc. in Bozeman. Remy attended Montana State University and earned a degree in Civil Engineering. Remy currently works as with Pioneer Technical Services, an engineering and environmental services firm.

IF4 Fundraiser - Bozeman
The last of three fundraiser viewings of the International Fly-Fishing Film Festival is being hosted by the MRF at the Ellen in Bozeman. Tickets are $20 per person, with 75% of proceeds going to river conservation efforts (venue keeps 25% of ticket sales). The film is a beautiful compilation of places with some of the best fly-fishing in the world. Doors open at 6:00pm for concessions and raffle tickets. The film showing is from 7-9pm.

River Science Series - Presentation 1
Mike Duncan, Montana FWP fisheries biologist for the Madison, will discuss findings on joint projects. Topics include natal streams, Madison River and Ennis Lake trout populations, and 2021 fish kills. Attendance is available both in person at the Madison Valley Public Library in Ennis and via zoom. Fly Fishing and Outdoor Festival
